Hi,First of all I want to give you example of what is the difference b/w a hardgainer and a mesomorph. The guy on the left is friend of mine who started learning gymnastics with me. He used to be a be-boying dancer. Now look at his abs. One month back there was a belly hanging there. He is a foodie. He doesnu2019t give a crap about how much sugar or proteins he is consuming. He is a busy guy so he misses his afternoon meal most of the time.On the other hand me, I eat around 4000 calories a day, with a strict ratio of carbs, protein(way more protein than him) and fats. But still he has better and bigger physique me.Diet StrategyTwo months back I was doing some experiments for my blog on how can I increase my weight without getting a feeling of overeating. My weight was 64 kgs then. I started consuming 5000 calories a day and after a month I was 72 kgs. I gained a lot of muscle but I lost my abs(gained some fat too).I donu2019t like to bulk up so I finally settled down at 4200-4500 calories which is giving me moderate gains with visible abs(Out of which only around 500 calories is proteins, rest is carbs and fats). So basically at first you have to find out what your equipoint is in terms of calories. I can bet that 50% people who claim to be a hardgainer are just not eating enough.Recommended calories for a normal person of my weight and height is 2500 calories(you might be eating that much now) but I have to eat twice the calories to see gains and so do you.For a hardgainer eating more is more important than eating healthy.Your first preference should be to consume more calories throughout the day as so avoid food which kills hunger(Junk food), eat less amount more frequently as it gives you better opportunity to consume more calories, make your diet plan in a way that you should be hungry in every 3-4 hours and then fill yourself with good calories. You can see a sample diet plan here : Sample Muscle Diet plan for skinny people(4000 cal)If you still struggle to get enough calories you can read this : How to gain muscle if I am ultraskinny?.WorkoutIf you are absolute beginner you should go with bodyweight workouts. Your first target should be to reach 10u201312 pull ups, 20u201325 pushups, 10u201312 dips, 1 pistol squat and handstand holds using a wall. Practice those as much as you can. It wont fatigue you as much as weight training but it will give you the basic strength that you need at supersonic speed. After accomplishing this you will have following options :go with heavy weight training if you want to bulk up and be on a high calorie diet.go with more rigorous body-weight workouts like one arm pushup, clap pushups, handstand pushups, hanging leg raises ,reverse crunches etc. Once you achieve those too, you can move on to workouts like the human flag, dragon flag, two finger pushups, the impossible pushup, muscle ups etc. After reaching this point you will be qualified enough to achieve whatever physique you want.go with more of athletic workouts like sprinting, kicking, punchingChill brother! One year is more than enough. My StoryI was the skinniest guy in my 10th standard with a weight of 36 kgs (the least weight after me was a girl at 38 kgs). After 10th, in summer vacation I started learning pushups and pull ups. My highest score in those two month progression was 3 pushup and 1 pull up. That was an awesome progress because earlier it was zero.Time passed by and the time I reached 12th I was doing 30 pushups at a stretch. But I didnu2019t pay attention to my pull ups(price of which I paid later).I reached college and left working out for 1 year completely. In my second year I thought of packing some muscles. I did got rid of my skinniness but I ended up like this (I read somewhere eat big to get big so I ate like a crocodile).I even got mocked by my best friend that you can never get abs even if you workout forever (I still remember his exact words).I knew that I am gonna have it some day but I just had to find how. Then one day I was watching the movie Ong-Bak: Muay Thai Warrior and got influenced by the way Tony Ja was moving. After a little research I got to see a video of David Belle doing parkour and I though of learning it.So from that day every night me with one of my friend used to basic exercises like balancing, jumping, vaults in the mid-night after 2:00 clock till 6:00 am.One day during a wall climb I felt powerlessness in my left arm. It was shaking. I neglected it for months and start skipping pulling exercises to avoid that, but that didnu2019t workout and it got worse.I went to doctor and he asked me to rest for 4u20135 months. After 3u20134 weeks of not working out I got pneumonia. I was out of money for that and couldnu2019t tell my parents as they would just freak out. Doctor asked me to take complete bed rest for a week.I hardly followed that for 3 days and it got worse. Then the third night I came out of my hostel for a walk in mid-night and reached the same place we used to workout. I felt better (mentally atleast). I thought of balancing on the rail till the end which was one floor high. That was scary as hell but things were already worse so I gave it a go.After that from next day my thug life got started. I started parkour again. I started strengthening my forearm in gym. After weeks I started doing pullups and after 2 month I was doing wall climb again with much more speed.Summer vacation started. I went home and dedicated 4 hours everyday in learning the toughest bodyweight exercises I could find on internet, kicking, jumping and climbing.I mastered Bruce Leeu2019s dragon flag within that period.By the end of my summer vacation I was in the best shape of my life:I achieved this physique without any supplements. Now I have all the money to afford any supplement I want but still I am unable to reach this level to lean-ness again(shame on me ,)).Thanx to that shitty injury that now I can even perform legendary Bruce Lee 2-finger pushup easily(exaggeratingu2024 Its damn painful ,) ), which is the greatest achievement of my life.Thank you!Edit - For people who asked for a diet plan here it is : Sample Muscle Diet plan for skinny people(4000 cal) Once you understand this structure you can reduce or increase calories according to your convenience. For people with goal of only getting rid of skinniness and need a general solution, Check this: How to gain muscle if I am ultraskinny? For people interesting in learning supercool workout, here you go : Progression Map to Advanced Bodyweight ExercisesThanks,Wonder Junkies
